Student Council and Parent Volunteers

We had great candidates for Student Council.Class Election  The students delivered speeches and should be proud of what they shared.

Yesterday we voted and elected a student.  Victoria McCaffery will be our class representative (or class president) during the first trimester.

Hopefully we will have even more students participating in the second trimester election.

LIBRARY VOLUNTEER NEEDED:

During the 2013-2014 school year, our school librarians have asked that each class have a parent volunteer to assist students while they are at the library.  The parent volunteer will help kids find books, and remind students to check out their books before our time in the library ends.

We visit the library every Thursday from 9:35-10:05 am.  Please let me know if you are available to volunteer on a weekly basis.  Our 4th graders can introduce you to the librarians and you can join the “book fun”.

CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS:

If parents would like to volunteer in the classroom, we just started Reading Groups and would love parents or grandparents who want to help.  Each week, we have Reading Groups on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (9:05-9:55).  Please let me know if you would be willing to join us for Reading Groups.

FIELD TRIP VOLUNTEERS:

We will also need parent volunteers on our field trips.  Our next field trip is on Wednesday, November 20th, to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.  We have two parents who have volunteered but we could still have several more parents join us.

Thank you for considering these opportunities to volunteer.
